"TWINS. TWO BOYS.": A RETRACING OF STEPS

A site-specific photographic project installed in a temporary gallery at the Blatz Brewery Building in Milwaukee, WI. Visitors were invited to remove and keep an image from the wall.

In response to this historic space, I initiated a photographic walk in which I followed in the footsteps of a distant ancestor who was a delivery man for the Blatz Brewing company. In an attempt to connect with an individual I had never met, I documented the landscape through which he once regularly traveled and paired my photographs of this evolved location with fragments from his personal journal.

9:42am. Still
Down past Ohio on the left
She sang and I loved it
The valley smells like sin
She looks more beautiful as I ever seen. Trimmed my toes and ate 3 apples from the tree.
Little town going down
Condensed milk. Sugar
Big cracker split the elm. Through half a cord so far.
3 ticks on Tanner. One under the tail
Twins. Two Boys
Tomorrow I'll think about it but today it's me and Mae and a bucket of nuts.
7:15 and about a hundred degrees
Blew smoke in his ear last night. Then I let off a big one
Swam the nights in Port
He asked me if I was ready, right then and there. Told him I wasn't but hoped maybe someday. Hard to get there with all of this.
